मुख्यमंत्री जय राम ठाकुर ने आज पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री भारत रत्न अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की पुण्यतिथि के अवसर पर शिमला के ऐेतिहासिक रिज मैदान पर उनकी प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण कर श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।
इसके उपरान्त, मुख्यमंत्री ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए कहा कि हिमाचल प्रदेश और यहां के लोग सदैव अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के बेहद करीब रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री के दायित्वों और व्यस्तताओं के बावजूद अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी हर वर्ष कुल्लू जिला के प्रीणी गांव आते थे। उन्होंने कहा कि अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी एक प्रखर वक्ता, बेहतरीन सांसद और महान व्यक्तित्व थे।
शहरी विकास मंत्री सुरेश भारद्वाज, सांसद एवं भाजपा प्रदेशाध्यक्ष सुरेश कश्यप, विधायक बलबीर वर्मा, उपायुक्त शिमला आदित्य नेगी, पुलिस अधीक्षक डॉ. मोनिका और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्ति इस अवसर पर उपस्थित थे।
