मार्टिन लूथर किंग, जूनियर सेंटर फॉर नॉन वॉयलेंट सोशल चेंज में गांधी फाउंडेशन ने वैश्विक मानवीय नेता और आध्यात्मिक गुरु गुरुदेव श्री श्री रविशंकर को शांति और अहिंसा के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता को मान्यता देते हुए गांधी पीस पिलग्रिम पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया ।
गुरुदेव का स्वागत डॉक्टर ईसाक न्यूटन फारी, जर., सीनियर फेलो, एमएलके केंद्र, व डॉक्टर मार्टिन लूथर किंग जूनियर के भांजे; और भारत की काउंसिल जनरल स्वाति कुलकर्णी ने किया |
गुरुदेव संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में अपने वैश्विक “आई स्टैंड फॉर पीस” अभियान को आगे बढ़ा रहे हैं, जिसमें पहले से ही यूरोप, मध्य अमेरिका और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में लाखों लोगों ने शांति और अहिंसा के पक्ष में अपनी आवाज को सुनाने के लिए ऐसे समय में रैलियाँ की हैं, जबकि विश्व में ध्रुवीकरण बढ़ रहा है।
बाद में ‘आई स्टैंड फॉर पीस’ दौरे में, गुरुदेव न्यू जर्सी, नॉरफ़ॉक/वर्जीनिया बीच और मेम्फिस की यात्रा करेंगे और सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रमों में स्थानीय समुदाय के हज़ारों सदस्यों को संबोधित करेंगे। मेम्फिस में गुरुदेव राष्ट्रीय नागरिक अधिकार संग्रहालय का दौरा भी करेंगे, जो अमेरिका में अहिंसा और सामाजिक परिवर्तन के इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर है।
गुरुदेव का वैश्विक ‘आई स्टैंड फॉर पीस’ टूर अगले साल वाशिंगटन डीसी के प्रतिष्ठित नेशनल मॉल में मानवता के भव्य उत्सव के साथ समाप्त होगा। डॉ किंग के प्रसिद्ध भाषण”आई हैव ए ड्रीम” के 60 साल बाद, उसी स्थान से, गुरुदेव एक बार फिर वैश्विक शांति और विविधतापूर्ण विश्व में सद्भाव का संदेश देंगे।
ऐसे समय में जब समाज तेजी से ध्रुवीकृत हो रहा है, गुरुदेव हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि भिन्नताओं को न केवल स्वीकार करें बल्कि उनका जश्न मनाएं। “विविधता ही सृष्टि का सौंदर्य है। इसे सम्मानित करने, स्वीकार करने और उनका जश्न मनाने की जरूरत है, ”गुरुदेव ने कहा।
