पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वीरभद्र सिंह को जीवन पर्यंत प्रदेश की जनता का भरपूर प्यार मिला और अब उनके जाने के बाद भी उनके चाहने वालों को उनके जाने का यकीन ही नहीं होता । मीडिया से बात करते हुए आज कुछ ऐसा ही एहसास जताया उनके खासम खास रहे पूर्व मंत्री और वर्तमान में प्रतिपक्ष के नेता मुकेश अग्निहोत्री ने । उन्होंने कहा कि 1962 से 8 जुलाई 2021 तक ऐसा कभी नहीं हुआ कि वह किसी ना किसी सदन के सदस्य न रहे हो । अग्निहोत्री ने कहा कि वे 9 मर्तबा विधायक 5 बार सांसद 4 बार केंद्र में मंत्री 6 बार मुख्यमंत्री और 4 बार पार्टी के अध्यक्ष रहे । 22 साल तक मुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर उन्होंने प्रदेश का नेतृत्व किया । उन्होंने कहा कि 1983 में मुख्यमंत्री बनने के बाद विधानसभा में हमेशा उनकी आवाज गूंजती रही और आज उनकी कमी सभी को खल रही है मुकेश अग्निहोत्री ने कहा कि आज भी यकीन नहीं होता अब वे उनके बीच नहीं है बल्कि उनकी मौजूदगी का आज भी एहसास होता है ।
