उपचुनाव में मौन की अवधि (साइलेंस पीरियड) की अवधि 2 से बढ़ाकर 3 दिन पूर्व की गई है
प्रदेश के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी सी. पालरासु ने बताया कि भारत निर्वाचन आयोग ने कोविड-19 महामारी की रोकथाम के लिए जारी दिशा-निर्देशों के दृष्टिगत उप-निर्वाचन-2021 के दौरान चुनाव प्रचार की अवधि सीमित की है।
उन्होंने बताया कि आयोग के निर्देशों के अनुसार इन उप-चुनावों के दौरान चुनाव प्रचार की अवधि प्रतिदिन प्रातः 10:00 बजे से सायंकाल 7:00 बजे तक निर्धारित की गई है। इसी प्रकार मौन की अवधि (साइलेंस पीरियड) मतदान समाप्त होने की तिथि से 2 दिन पूर्व से बढ़ाकर 3 दिन पूर्व की गई है, जो कि 27 अक्तूबर, 2021 सायं 6:00 बजे के बाद शुरू हो जाएगी।
उन्होंने मंडी लोकसभा तथा फतेहपुर, जुब्बल-कोटखाई और अर्की विधानसभा क्षेत्रों के उप-निर्वाचन में भाग ले रहे सभी प्रत्याशियों तथा राजनीतिक दलों से चुनाव प्रचार से संबंधित इन दिशा-निर्देशों की अनुपालना का आग्रह किया है।
